Rob Simmelkjaer

Rob Simmelkjaer served as an anchor/correspondent for ABC News Now and ABC Newsone from December, 2005 to July 2007, and was the host of such original programs as, “Inside the Newsroom,” “In the Mix,” and “Guilt or Innocence.”

In July 2007 Simmelkjaer returned to ESPN, where he works as both a Vice President of Corporate Projects and an on-air contributor for ESPN's coverage of college football, basketball, baseball and lacrosse.

Prior to his work with News Now, Simmelkjaer worked with ESPN as an assistant to its president George Bodenheimer in matters of strategic direction and management. Upon Simmelkjaer’s promotion to vice president, he led the six-year programming agreement between ESPN/ABC Sports and the National Basketball Association. In addition to these achievements, Simmelkjaer, a graduate of Dartmouth College and Harvard Law School, practiced law in New York City at the firms Weil, Gotshal & Manges (2000–2001) and Cravath, Swaine & Moore (1997–2000). Mr. Simmelkjaer, born in Haworth, New Jersey, currently resides in New York City.
